Hundreds of small bays contribute to the magical Marlborough Sounds

If walking is "your thing" then choose from the famous 70km long Queen Charlotte Track or perhaps the unique isolation and beauty of the Queen Charlotte Wilderness Park (photo above), with its 23km private walking track, known as the Outer Queen Charlotte Track
The Marlborough Sounds are an intricate system of almost 1,600 km of coast line. The many sheltered bays provide a perfect environment for fishing, kayaking and water sports, walking and camping.
At the head of Queen Charlotte Sound is the town of Picton, the gateway to the Sounds. Picton is the ideal place from which to explore the unique beauty of the Marlborough Sounds. Water taxis depart regularly from Picton for fishing, diving, kayaking and other water sports, site-seeing trips, and dolphin watching. Endeavour Express Water Taxis can take you to the Queen Charlotte Wilderness Park and both the Outer Queen Charlotte Track and the Queen Charlotte Track.

While visiting Marlborough you simply MUST experience the Sounds. Activities include yachting and cruising, kayaking, fishing and diving, and checking out the dolphins and seals.
