Around Marlborough

Situated in the centre of New Zealand is Marlborough, with Picton and the beautiful Marlborough Sounds being at the northern tip of the region. Picton is often referred to as the gateway to New Zealand's South Island and makes an ideal base to explore the district. Regular ferry services and flights connect Picton with Wellington in the North Island.

Thirty minutes to the south on state highway 1 is Blenheim, the town which usually records New Zealands highest sunshine hours. It is at the heart of the Marlborough wine-growing district and boasts numerous award-winning boutique wineries. Prenzels and he Quilters Barn are a must. Take time to check out the famous wine trail and sample our world-leading Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc and enjoy the many arts and crafts that abound in the area.
