Description: Dart Stables has been operating since 1992 and has built a reputation for successfully catering for all riding abilities, from complete beginner to lifetime rider. Based in Glenorchy Dart Stables ride at the Head of Lake Wakatipu, across the Rees and Dart Rivers, through Paradise and up to Mount Aspiring National Park. This stunning part of the country has recently come to fame as its beauty was captured in the epic movie ‘The Lord of the Rings’.

The scenery in and around Glenorchy is spectacular – snow-capped mountains, lakes and crystal clear turquoise waters. • An Overnight in Paradise: A typical Overnight takes you to Paradise, a 5-6 hour ride. Staying in Paradise’s tranquil beech forest you will have the opportunity to explore or just relax taking in the surrounding beauty. Day 2 you make your way back to the Stables along the Dart Valley, another 5-6 hour ride. All-in-all an unforgettable experience.
• The Trilogy Loop: Follow the trail of Saruman’s army as they departed Isengard on this epic 3 - 3.5 hour ride. With breathtaking views of The Misty Mountains, Wizards Vale and the Mighty Methedras, the Trilogy Loop encompasses both the Rees and Dart River Valleys. There are several river crossings and magnificent views towards the head of Lake Wakatipu with plenty of opportunities for some faster paced riding. Riding experience is required - not suitable for beginners.
