We offer farm rides of one or more hours. We ride on three different working farms, over gently rolling hills, along country roads or, depending on the season, in the local forestry. All rides feature stunning views of the surrounding countryside, Mount Arthur, The Western Ranges and Tasman Bay.
We cater to all levels of experience in small groups of up to five riders. Basic safety and riding instruction starts each ride. You will ride in comfortable, secure, all leather Western saddles and safety helmets are provided. We suggest long pants for riding, a windbreaker or sweatshirt is good to have for the breezy tops, and sturdy footwear is a must.

Western Ranges Horse Treks Description: Experience being at one with horse and environment. The spectacular scenery and tranquillity will leave you refreshed in body, mind and spirit. Our property borders Kahurangi National Park, 400,000 hectares of pristine wilderness. Enjoy half day, one, two, three and ten day treks in our inspiring mountains. Swim horses bareback. Our quality team includes clydesdale thoroughbred crosses, Irish hunters, Welshcobs, anglo-arabs, arabs and appaloosas. Many of our horses are champions and still compete in show jumping, eventing, dressage and endurance.
While we specialise in providing well-schooled, freemoving horses for advanced riders, we are experienced in catering for the complete beginner. The options for our rides are many and we tailor our treks to personally fit each small group. The terrain ranges from verdant farm land to challenging wild places.
