Description: The delightfully picturesque bushclad hills and valleys of Rangihau hide a colourful pioneering history. Giant Kauri once stood here. Gold-diggers prospected and gum-diggers prospered amidst this native splendour. Today you can ride through these beautiful and historic landscapes from Rangihau Ranch.
One of 40 well conditioned and trained trekking horses will carry you up the original packhorse trails to the spectacular panorama of the Coromandel Ranges. Rugged hills, native bush and rolling farmland unfold before you while Mercury Bay harbour sparkles in the distance. Your trek can last 1, 1 1/2 or 2 hours. Quiet horses for the beginners and horses to suit the more advanced rider. For pre-schoolers there is a pony trail to try where they can be led on a cute tiny pony over the river flats to the Waiwawa river with a duration of 1/2 hour.
So saddle up a trek through this beautiful and historic heartland at Rangihau Ranch, home of the real New Zealand ride.
