While our farmlet is only small at five & half acres, it operates just like the bigger farms further out in the countryside. We keep several beef cattle, sheep, free range hens, a farm cat called "Alfie" and a Labrador dog named "Ruby" (who doesn`t come inside).

Apart from visiting Christchurch you can easily take day trips to Hanmer Springs, stunning Akaroa or to see the whales at Kaikoura. If you go skiing, you can return home for a long hot soak in our fully enclosed spa pool. Just 2 minutes by car is the Templeton Golf course. 3 minutes to the local mall, Factory outlet shopping centre, Restaurants & Bars. From the city centre by car: Drive via Colombo Street towards the Port Hills. Turn left into Cashmere Road at the roundabout before you go up the hill. We are on 417 Cashmere Road. Be aware Cashmere Road does an unexpected turn to the left when you see the sign Halswell Quarry.
From any direction; get onto SH 75 in Christchurch (signposted Halswell/Akaroa). When driving on Halswell Road turn into Henderson Road. At the end turn right into Cashmere Road.

Description: We live in a tranquil setting at the foothills at Oxford. We farm cattle and a small flock of sheep, also Alpaca`s.

We are on the inland scenic route 72 between Rangiora and State Highway 73 (to the West Coast, Lake Tekapo, Hanmer Springs and Kaikoura). Within a few minutes drive there is salmon & trout fishing, easy walks and tramps at Mt Oxford, Mt Richardson, Mt Thomas, and many bush walks also nearby.

Horse trekking can be arranged. Mountain biking at the Wharfdale track offers one of the best in the South Island. Ski fields within 1-1/2 hrs drive.
