Description: Brentleigh is a farmstay/fishing retreat on the banks of the Mataura River famous for its brown trout fishing.

Hosts Mary and Brian farm 290 hectares of crop, sheep, deer and cattle. A farm tour is included in the tariff.

Our guest accommodation consists of two new large rooms with ensuites separate from the main house and one room in the homestead. We have a large relaxing country garden with over 1000 peonies which flower in November - December.

Brentleigh is ideally situated in Northern Southland with 10 excellent fishing rivers within 30 minutes.

Description: Welcome to "Chartlea Park", the home of the MacKenzie family and situated in beautiful Northern Southland.

Our home is the original Balfour Homestead, and dates back to 1896, with some interesting stories to tell regarding its existence.
Once this home was the hub of an estate which was over 8500 acres in size, but time and subdivision leaves us with 550 acres to farm and develop.

We welcome you to spend some time with us, as you delight in wonderful home cooking, enjoy the ambience of our home as you select from a range of reading material and music, or delight in the extensive garden setting surrounding the homestead.

On The Farm: Chartlea Park is a 550 acre sheep, beef, deer and boer goat farm situated in the heart of Northern Southland. During your time with us we enjoy offering you a farm tour, and hopefully, the opportunity to meet and feed some of our pet animals. The main shearing is prior to Christmas, while lambing takes place in September.

You can interact with sheep, lambs, horses and prime hens yet still access city or suburban restaurants, shopping malls and entertainments.
