Waiatoto River Safari Ltd Description: The Waiatoto River Safari is New Zealands only Sea to Mountain Jetboat Safari. Join an experienced team to embark on a fantastic journey into the heart of the South West World Heritage Area - Te Wahi pounamu. The Waiatoto River is a well kept secret among West Coasters. A combination of many different types of River terrain and scenic splendour.
The Safari is divided into three sections:
(1) Upstream - A laid back exploration of the valley with stops for photographs and commentary whichs covers many interesting facts of the geology and history of this remote region of South Westland.
(2) A short bush walk and nature interpretation. A chance to further photograph and be inspired by pristine, untouched surroundings.
(3) The ride home- A more up tempo journey demonstrating the amazing capabilities of New Zealands own Jet Boat with a little extra fun at no extra cost. The safari concludes with a visit to the Tasman Sea and a look in a hidden tributary of the Waiatoto Estuary.
