E-Treks Limited Description: E-Treks offers hikes that focus on the local ecology and cultural history of various backcountry locations near Queenstown.
Each hike has been carefully chosen so as to provide each party with a variety of forest and alpine settings, a diverse array of flora and fauna, numerous historic gold mining relics and scenic backdrops.
These hikes are situated within the Remarkables Conservation Area, the Mt Crichton Scenic Reserve and in the Rees Valley. The hike in the Rees Valley, for example, takes in the Invincible Gold Mine perched on a narrow terrace that looks out towards the glaciated peaks at the head of the valley.
E-Treks is operated solely by a qualified environmental scientist and ecologist who has lived and worked in Queenstown for a number of years.
All hikes are restricted to two people to ensure a high quality experience. The departure times and duration of each hike varies according to fitness levels and each party’s personal requirements. Generally each hike takes between 3 to 4 hours.
Door to door transportation is provided along with a picnic style lunch and refreshments.
